![]() When you can consistently create content of any kind in any realm of this earth, the consumer will hate on you hard. ![]() Max's job is to CREATE content, while all the people complaining about him do is CONSUME. Notice how this fgc loves to talk about how nice and friendly they are and blah blah, yet consistently prove themselves to be hateful and spiteful jerks that will tear into anyone that disagrees with the hive mind. Max is a genuine dude that seems truly kind, and kills it at fighting games. People always hate on the people at the "top". I've been playing sf for my whole life and been watching max for years. see: some other competitive gaming communities) change the face of the scene. Though there could be a discussion on whether or not he's obligated to try and instill these new players with the positive values of the FGC (playing to win, getting good, time and effort and practice etc.) Some of us don't want to grow the community quickly at the expense of letting a bunch of players that don't care for these (memelords, crybabies etc. Having said that, I'm believe he's having a net positive effect on the community by getting people interested in fighting games. The more invested you become in fighting games, the less you'll find Max's content relevant to you. He has success but not our respect, he doesn't add any value to our core community in what he produces. So what we have is a person/character highly associated with fighting games but kind of dissociated with core fighting gamers (this community). ![]() The hype videos, the reactions, the play-throughs and skits do not appeal to the core fighting game audience. I think Max's content is aimed towards and enjoyable for a viewership close to casual fighting gamer or observer, which is a very large group, and he is very successful with that audience. People that hate on him and his new content the most are probably just wanting the old Max back. That's why the hate has cropped up around him. He went from a chill and fun guy who were making some great videos about fighting games, to a fake youtube persona shill. Then he started doing the ''YOOO DOOODS HYPE OMG SO CUHRAYZEE LOOK AT MY DOG GIVE ME STRENGTH BENNY BLAAARHJ'' youtube-persona in almost every video, and then just started shilling for specific games (like the DMC reboot fiasco, where he was shittalking fans of the old games for criticising the reboot, despite him never having played the older ones himself). In whatever game he was playing.īut then he started doing a bunch of clickbait shit. The natural trash talk and some occasional hype moments that occurred naturally from clutching out victories etc. I used to like his content where he would just sit down and play different fighting games, by himself or with friends.
